About me

I am Post-doctoral fellow in computational biology currently working at NCMM (Faculty of Medicine) as part of the Mathelier. More specifically I develop algorithms attempting to improve our ability to integrate and interpret various flavours of high-throughput sequencing data with the hope of extending our grasp of the timeless Structure-function coupling orchestrating DNA activity. Having had the opportunity to travel across continents through my studies (B.A Natural Science Cambridge University, MSc. Bioinformatics Copenhagen University, PhD Bioinformatics RIKEN/KU) I have grown to appreciate the value of exchanges among individuals with diverse experiences to convert seemingly elusive problems into fruitful endeavours.

In my spare time I enjoy procrastinating on youtube and getting headaches while reading obscure German philosophy.

About me

I studied genetics in my home country Lithuania. Then I moved to Norway, where in NTNU, Trondheim I got my MSc in Molecular Medicine. At the moment I am a doctoral research fellow at Anthony Mathelier’s lab at NCMM, Oslo. I do computational work on transcription factors and their binding events.

I will cuddle every single dog I meet on my way. I also know too much information about movies and TV.

About me

I studied bachelor of Biology in Hungary, then moved to Sweden to do my masters in Biomedicine at Karolinska Institute. By chance I got involved with bioinformatics and the next thing I knew I was studying software engineering and data science at the University of Gothenburg towards a second masters. Currently, I am a PhD student at the Centre for Molecular Medicine Norway, where my main project focuses on exploring gene expression regulation in breast cancer patients.

Random fact about me

After 15 years of competitive running career I enjoy trying out different sports, my favorites being winter sports. The more snow and ice the better.

About me

I received my PhD at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) in the field of plant genomics, where my work was focused on the analysis of wheat genomic data including data from NGS, microarrays and genotyping data. Recently, I changed my field and stepped into cancer research, and currently employed as PostDoc at Centre of Molecular Medicine Norway (NCMM), where my work focus is on the analysis of disruption of gene regulation in cancer using patient-specific gene regulatory networks.

Random fact about me

I love to play the lottery and hate flying and being in the plane. The second one is not great, as in case the first one happens and I win, I would love to travel around the world.

About me

I obtained a master's in Bioinformatics from Lund University, Sweden. During master’s studies, I moved to Uppsala University for a research project. After graduation, I worked as a bioinformatician for Science for Life Laboratory in Sweden. With the ambition to develop computational biology training and network in Nordics, I am excited we have RSG Norway. My team and I look forward to implementing our ideas and building the community!

I like to experiment with baking recipes for fika! I enjoy cloudscape photography, hiking, running, and cycling.

About me

I have a B.Sc in Genetics and Molecular biology and an M.Sc in Biotechnology from Ethiopia. I then moved to Norway where I obtained another M.Sc in Molecular Biosciences and a PhD in molecular biology (Gene regulation and epigenetics) from the Department of Biosciences, UiO. I am currently a postdoctoral research fellow in the lab of Anthony Mathelier at the Center for Molecular Medicine Norway (NCMM), UiO. My current project deals with unravelling the interplay between TF-DNA binding and DNA methylation.
